Empowering Style: A Recap of the 2024 Dress for Success Cincinnati Fashion Show

11/11/2024 10:00:52 AM

The 2024 Dress for Success Cincinnati Fashion Show was a night to remember! Hosted at the historic Cincinnati Museum Center, the show brought together our community of supporters, partners, and clients to celebrate fashion and our mission of empowering women. This year’s Fashion Show was extra special, as it marked our 25th anniversary of helping women achieve economic independence—a milestone that was felt throughout the evening as we reflected on all the ways our community has helped move our mission forward.

To kick off the show, our MC, Tierra Strickland, started by introducing herself to the crowd. As a former client and current board member, Tierra shared the importance Dress for Success Cincinnati serves for women in our community.

The Honorary Chair, Jackie Reau, took the stage with remarks that celebrated both her longstanding involvement with Dress for Success Cincinnati and the powerful progress we’ve made together. As CEO of GameDay Communications and a founding board member of Dress for Success Cincinnati, Jackie has been integral to our growth and has inspired others to join us in our mission.

Later in the evening, we heard from Karoonah, a DFSC client who shared her story of resilience and determination. Her testimonials highlighted how programs like StyleHER, HigherHER, and EmpowerHER have equipped her with the skills and support she needed to overcome barriers and take control of her future. It was a powerful reminder of the impact we’re making together, and the lives transformed through your support.

Another one of the evening’s highlights was honoring our Mary Ivers Award winner, whose commitment to our mission has made a profound impact. This year, we recognized Tierra Strickland for her outstanding dedication and volunteerism. Her testimonial video, featured in the show, captured her unwavering support for our clients and her incredible contributions to Dress for Success Cincinnati. She reminded us of the power one person has to make a difference.

This year’s Fashion Show also marked a transition, as we bid farewell to our CEO, Lisa Nolan, after seven years of inspiring leadership. Lisa’s contributions have left an enduring legacy of growth and impact. While we celebrated all she’s achieved, we also looked to the future, introducing our new CEO, Meggan Thompson, who will carry our mission forward with a fresh vision and determination.

And to round out the evening, our fashion show featured looks from Donna Salyers’ Fabulous Furs and Gerardo Encinas, with clients, supporters, and volunteers strutting down the runway.

A special thank you goes to our presenting sponsor, Kerry Automotive Group, whose generosity helped make this evening a tremendous success. With their support, we’re thrilled to share that this year’s Fashion Show raised over $425,000—funds that will go directly toward expanding our programs and empowering more women in Greater Cincinnati.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees. We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and resources to make the 2024 Fashion Show a night to remember. Your support enables us to continue expanding our programs, helping more women on their journey to economic independence.

As we reflect on this unforgettable evening, we’re inspired to push forward, knowing that together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference. Thank you for being a part of our community and for your commitment to empowering women in Greater Cincinnati. Here’s to the next 25 years of style, support, and success!
