Dress for Success Cincinnati’s annual fashion show event has always been an exciting way for us to gather and raise money that will help the women we serve—the 2021 Fashion Show was no exception.
Our 2021 event was held at the Hard Rock Casino in Cincinnati on September 21, and featured not only a fashion show by three of our former clients, but also a show by designer Daniel Wingate.
Over a delectable lunch, guests watched as former client Charlene Davis was awarded the Mary Ivers award and Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney and Crystal Faulkner were named honorees of the event.
This year’s luncheon was hugely successful and raised over 90,000 for the organization—but where does this money go? And why is it important?
The Dress for Success Cincinnati Fashion Show is our largest yearly fundraising event. This event, and the guests who support it, allows our organization to thrive.
The money raised at this show supports our staff members, who implement the day-to-day duties necessary to drive our mission of empowering women. This funding is the reason women can come to Dress for Success and be styled in a fabulous outfit, find career training free of charge and have professional networking opportunities.
This money does not merely pay a salary- its starts a career. As women enter Dress for Success, they are searching for the support to truly change their lives. They are taking the first step into being the woman they dream to be and becoming financially independent.
A client’s journey doesn’t start only through word-of-mouth, either. The money raised by this event goes toward our team’s efforts to market our organization and share the good news that we are here to help. From flyers to Facebook, this financial support allows us to put this opportunity in front of a client who truly can benefit from it.
This funding is the lifeline of our three programs-- StyleHER, HigherHER and EmpowerHER—that each benefit our clients in transformative, important ways. Whether it’s a need for clothing, career training, networking or all of the above, these opportunities simply wouldn’t exist without the financial support of our guests and donors.
We are lucky to be able to parlay our annual fashion show into numerous opportunities for supporting the organization. Guests are welcome to enter into our raffle—which features many wonderful baskets filled with amazing gifts. They also have the option to make a donation at any point during the show, and they can even pay to take home one of the lovely floral arrangements at the event.
The support we received at our 2021 Fashion Show was truly overwhelming, and we are looking forward to using it to create the best possible experience for our clients. Without events like this, we could not have the impact we have on our clients, and they could not get the support they truly deserve.
