At Dress for Success Cincinnati, we believe empowerment is a collective effort. While achieving individual goals is crucial, true transformation happens when surrounded by a community that believes in you. This October, we proudly launched our new Women’s Circles, an initiative that fosters connection, collaboration, and shared strength among women.
Over nine weeks, our first cohort of 12 women came together to explore their aspirations, share personal stories, and forge meaningful connections. These circles are a powerful extension of our ongoing mission to help women achieve economic self-sufficiency and holistic well-being.
The Women’s Circles are rooted in the successes of our individualized 1:1 coaching program, which has already benefited more than 90 women this year. While coaching provides personalized guidance, Women’s Circles create opportunities for collective wisdom to flourish. Through collaboration and open dialogue, participants gain valuable perspectives that extend beyond their individual journeys.
“The Women’s Circles contribute to the DFSC mission of empowering women to define and reach their goals,” says Tierra Adabla, Thriving Services Manager. “These spaces are where women can dream together, build a community of support, and celebrate their progress toward achieving their milestones.”
The impact of the Women’s Circles is evident in the stories shared by participants. When asked about the changes they noticed in their lives, careers, or mindsets since completing the program, women shared the following:
The sense of connection and encouragement was a recurring theme among participants when asked about the most meaningful skills or insights they gained:
Connection is at the heart of the Women’s Circles. Participants are encouraged to share their challenges and triumphs, creating a network of encouragement and accountability.
“When we connect with someone, learn about them, and hear them out, we are creating a safe space for them,” says Ajiaga Eldridge, Thriving Services Coach. “We are respecting and engaging them, which builds trust and mutual support.”
Through this connection, women can empower each other to overcome obstacles, stay motivated, and discover new paths to personal and professional fulfillment.
Our first Women’s Circle marks the beginning of an exciting journey. As we continue to grow this program, we aim to build a thriving community where women support one another in achieving their dreams.
